On April 5, the Department of Emergencies honored members of the rescue operation to extract the body from the bottom of an abandoned salt mine in Inder region.
On December 16 last year, the team of rescuers carried out extraction and lifting to the surface of the body of a 50-year-old local resident that fell to abandoned mine ten days earlier.
Although it is most likely that the depth of the mine is 350 meters. The body was lifted from the depth of 285 meters, which is an equivalent of about a 100-story skyscraper. Emergency Ministry called the operation unprecedented for Kazakhstan.
YKK Emergency Rescuers Rauan SISSENOV, Sergey KONOVALENKO, and Artur YUSUPOV were backing up the descent to the salt mine performed by YKK’s Emergency Rescuer Yerkin UTASHEV. Yerkin UTASHEV was honored with the medal «For heroism in emergency response» and TV Hisense on behalf of the Mayor of Inder region. Rauan SISSENOV, Sergey KONOVALENKO, and Artur YUSUPOV were honored with medals for this rescue operation.
